Mechanism of Action

MOTS-c is encoded within the mitochondrial 12S rRNA and translocates to the nucleus under metabolic stress. It activates the AMPK pathway, enhancing glucose utilisation and fatty-acid oxidation, and modulates the folate-methionine cycle in research models.

AMPK Activation
Master metabolic switch engaged under energetic stress.
🔬
Glucose Regulation
Enhanced glucose uptake and insulin sensitivity in research models.
🧬
Nuclear Translocation
Stress-dependent nuclear signalling documented in vitro and in vivo.

Research Protocol Reference

For laboratory research use only — not for human or veterinary use.

💧
Reconstitution
Add sterile bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol) slowly against the vial wall. Gently swirl — do not vortex. Allow 5 min for complete dissolution.
🧊
Storage
Store solution-phase at -20°C. Post-reconstitution: maintain at 2–8°C, use within 28 days. Protect from light. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
📐
Administration
SubQ or IM administration in standard research protocols. Insulin syringe recommended for precise dosing. Refer to published literature for compound-specific protocols.
