Mechanism of Action

SS-31 (elamipretide) selectively accumulates in the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it binds cardiolipin. This stabilises cristae architecture and electron-transport-chain supercomplexes, improving ATP-synthesis efficiency and reducing reactive-oxygen-species leak in research models.
